STA allows you to see a chart of Previous Draws based on the specific Analysis you are working with. Based on the shape of the chart, it is obvious that a significant percentage of Winners populate the Middle of the chart, and not the extremes. In a 49-Ball Lotto how many times will the winning number be 1-2-3-4-5-6 or 44-45-46-47-48-49? Using STA, you have the ability to use an Analysis that produces 'more' combinations (Bets) than you actually want to play, and 'throw-out' the extremes using the STA.
